The mission of the Paxton Park District is that the Park Commissioners, Recreation Director, support staff, and volunteers work together to provide professionally organized and managed parks and programs for the Paxton community.  The Paxton Park District is dedicated to the responsibility of providing fun, enjoyable, and educational recreation and leisure opportunities.  Formed in 1965, the Park District is a member of the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association.  Facilities and parks currently include Coady Park, the Civic Center, West Lawn Park, Nelson Park ball fields, and the skate park.
