Adopted by the Paxton Park District Board of Commissioners, Jan 1, 1991. MISSION:
Paxton Park District was formed in 1965 and currently includes the Civic Center, Poolside Park, West Lawn Park and the swimming pool. Paxton Park District is a member of the Illinois Association of Park Districts, and is affiliated with the Illinois Parks and Recreation Association. The primary purpose of the Paxton Park District is that its Park Commissioners, Recreation Director, Executive Secretary, professional and support staff, and volunteers provide professionally organized and managed park and facilities and programs for the Park District Community. The Paxton Park District is dedicated to the responsibility to provide a broad spectrum of recreational and leisure services and activities. The Commissioners of Paxton Park District are dedicated to creating and maintaining an environment that supports year-round facilities and programs for both youth and adults. Paxton Park District is pledged to work cooperatively with other community agencies in providing residents of Paxton and its visitors facilities where such programs may take place. |
